MobilityMentor: Closing the Knowledge Gap for the Next Generation of Mobility Professionals

News Article

In today’s fast-moving mobility world, junior relocation consultants are often the ones closest to the assignee experience, but they are rarely given the full picture of how global mobility works. Many are trained only within strict service silos: home search, household goods, tenancy support, or immigration coordination. While they work hard and interact with families every day, the industry often overlooks their development, leaving them without the broader context that would make them stronger, more confident professionals.

MobilityMentor was created to change that.

The programme offers junior consultants a chance to step out of the silo and gain a real understanding of global mobility as a whole: how tax, payroll, policy, duty of care, and internal stakeholder management connect to the relocation work they do daily. By pairing mentees with experienced mobility professionals, the initiative gives them access to guidance they otherwise rarely receive in their day-to-day roles.

Matching is thoughtful and personalised. We look at goals, interests, time zones, communication style, and the pace at which each mentee prefers to learn. This creates partnerships that feel natural and practical, where mentees can ask real questions, explore topics beyond their service line, and receive honest feedback from someone who has already navigated the full mobility landscape.

What makes MobilityMentor powerful is that it is non-commercial, inclusive, and community-driven. It exists because the industry needs a place where new talent can grow without pressure, where learning is shared generously, across companies, countries, and backgrounds. The programme adds structure to what many consultants have been missing: a safe space to learn, reflect, and deepen their understanding of mobility beyond operational checklists.

As we move into Round 2 in April, more senior mobility leaders (including policy experts, global mobility managers, and strategic consultants) are joining as mentors. Together, we’re helping junior consultants build confidence, understand the “why” behind the work, and grow into the future leaders our industry needs.

MobilityMentor is more than a programme: it’s a pathway to shared knowledge, stronger service, and a more connected mobility community.
